Workflow Activities: Task Recurrence

In Advvy, tasks can be set to recur automatically at the workflow level.

To set up task recurrence, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Agency Settings section of Advvy.
  2. In the Workflowsection click on Media Workflow.
  3. Click into theworkflow you want to edit.
  4. Click onthe standard activity or subtask that you want to recur in the workflow.
  5. Once there, go down to the task recurrence (This is where you can set up taskrecurrence)

This terminology will help you set up task recurrence:

Recurrence Delayed:

The option here is Yes or No

If you select No, the task will automatically recur when you create a campaign and the workflow is initialized into that campaign.

If you select Yes, then it will be the users choice to start the recurrence at the campaign level. Therefore, the recurrence will not start automatically. It will start when the user chooses it to start.

Recurrence Direction:

The options here are Preceding or Following. This is based on the Due Date of the task.

Preceding means that the recurrences will take place before the due date and Following means the recurrences will take place after the due date.

Recurrence Frequency:

There are two options for recurrence frequency in Advvy: Weekly or Monthly.

This means that tasks will recur on either a weekly or monthly basis.

Recur On:

You can select specific days of the week for a task to recur on.

For example, you can set task recurrences to happen weekly and for the due dates to be set on Monday. However, choosing a day for the task to recur on is not required.

Max Occerrences:

This is the maximum amount of times the recurrence will happen.

Therefore if you choose 2, the recurrence will happen 2 times. If you choose 3, it will happen 3 times, etc.

Note: The task recurrence functionality should only be used if the task needs to be done a set number of times over a given time frame. If you are unsure if task recurrences should be used, it is best to just take advantage of the copy activity functionality (described above) in Advvy. This can help make your workflow displays less busy, and only utilize the task recurrence functionality if it’s absolutely necessary.
