Media Type Specialties are used to match users with activities and subtasks in Advvy. Users will find the media type specialties box in three areas of Advvy: activity records at the workflow level, subtasks at the workflow level, and within a user record in the Agency Specialty tab.
Media type specialties are added to both users and activities for task allocation purposes. Specifically, the Allocate Workflow: Assign Tasks functionality inside a campaign, which automatically assigns users to tasks throughout the campaign. This assignment is based on the media type specialties of users. If no specialty is present, the allocation process looks to the role. This process ensures the appropriate users are assigned to the tasks they’re most suitable for completing. For more information on the Allocate Workflow functionality please see our help guide HERE.
Follow these steps to add a Media Type Specialty to a user record:
- Go to the Agency Settings section of Advvy.
- Go to the Users section under
- Search the user you want to add the Media Type Specialty
- Click in their record.
- Click on the Agency Specialty
- In the Media Type Specialties box click the 3 vertical dots.
- Click +NewMedia Type Specialty User. (This full title may be cut off)
- The NewMedia Type Specialty User will appear.
- In the Media Type field look up the Media Type that you want to add to the user record.
- After selecting the Media Type, click Save and Close.
The Media Type Specialty has been added to the user record.
Note: Any time you add a Media Type Specialty to a user record, it’s a good idea to test the Media Type Specialty with the allocated workflow functionality mentioned above, just to ensure it works properly.
How to add a Media Type Specialty to an activity or subtask:
- Go to the Agency Settings
- Go to Media Workflow in the workflow section.
- Click on the workflow you want to edit.
- Click into the Standard Activity or Subtask you want to add the Media Type Specialty to.
- In the Media Type Specialty box click the 3 vertical dots and click add Media Type Specialty.
- The NewMedia Type Specialty Activity box will appear.
- Look up the Media Type you want to add to the standard activity or subtask.
- Click Save and Close.
Note: Every time a New Media Type Specialty is added to a workflow, be sure to test the workflow in a campaign using the Allocate Task Functionality.
How to add a Media Type to Advvy
- Go to the Agency Settings
- Go to the Media Types section under
- On the top of the screen click +New.
- If needed, add a code.
- Add a name to your Media Type.
- In the Media Type Segment look-up field, select the Media Type Segment appropriate for your Media Type.
- In your Media Type Group select the appropriate Media Type Group.
- Keep in mind that Media Type Segment and Media Type Group are look-up fields so those entities or the options available for selection must already added to Advvy in order to be an option for selection.
- Once you have added all the necessary information, click Save and Close and your Media Type will be immediately available.
